"Everything comes in a right moment"
Tigerhead has an honest and sincere career. His musical selection and good judgment has dared borders. We take The opportunity to interview her.
What how did you get your interest in electronic music?
I do not remember the exact moment. But Iʼd say when my atention attracted acts like Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Gudrun Gut and many others.. Since that moment I started to dig in electronic music deeply.
How did you decide to dedicate into production?
It went all together with my interested in electronic music in general, mainly how is it made and where does it come from. This moment lead me to attempts compose music on my own.
What is your criterion when you are producing? What inspire you?
I do not have any criteria in production whatsoever. My inspiration can come all of the sudden or can wait for years. It could be anything from people, mood, atmosphere, situations and I could go on...
How do you assess the trajectory you have had and what were the reasons that led you to start it?
Iʼm just genuinely grateful for the path what life has brought me to, and it all comes from love for music.
You had a huge touring schedule last year. Is there anything you do to warm up before you go on the road, to get yourself into the right headspace?
I do not need to warm up as I rather absorb the energy as it comes. Traveling is my passion, because it is the only moment when Iʼm limited to simple activities as reading, thinking and listening to music which is a privilege I donʼt get every day.
Were there any gigs that surprised you?
Every gig is surprising in any way. Itʼs just an adventure where you never know what to expect.
What was the last track that you heard that really blew you away?
It was my favourite classical music composition from Maurice Ravel - Bolero conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. Nothing new, I saw it thousand times, but it always makes me cry.
What’s been the most difficult lesson you’ve learned since you first started your career?
To be patient and strong. To be humble and grateful, to not overthink, to work hard and never give up. It teaches me many things every day.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Could you recommend a set that you are especially proud of it, and that we can see on your Soundcloud or on YouTube?
Yet again, to be patient. This is all what counts. Everything comes in a right moment. HÖR set on Youtube or podcast for CRACK magazine on Soundcloud are the ones special to me.
What can you tell us about the scene of your city? What would you improve?
I come from a very small city in a south of Czechia, there I can speak for hours. I live in Berlin for 8 years now and thereʼs no need to improve much. Apart from the recent club closing ‘ʼtrendʼʼ as last victim Griessmuehle.
Finally, what can you tell us about your present and future projects?
Thereʼs a track collaboration with Głós to be released on Ressort Imprint this spring. Furthermore Iʼm working on an EP to be released soon. Apart of that traveling and loving every second of what Iʼm doing.
