Lisbon-born, African-rooted and globally inspired DJ and producer DJEFF launches a brand new chapter in his musical journey with the release of “Wena” – available from March 28, 2025 via Kazukuta Records. Featuring the vocal expertise of renowned South African artist Shoba, this highly anticipated new record is the second single from DJEFF’s forthcoming album, ODYSSEY, following the release of “Lelo” ft. Boule Mpanya in October 2024.

Literally meaning “you” in Zulu, “Wena” showcases his signature style—where deep, soulful house meets pulsating Afro-house grooves—while incorporating Shoba’s distinct vocal artistry to create a rich, immersive listening experience.

Shoba, previously known as Shota, is a Durban-based singer, producer, and DJ whose genre-defying approach to music has earned him widespread acclaim. From his groundbreaking solo album “Afro-Rawmantic” to collaborations with industry heavyweights, Shoba has remained a driving force in the evolution of Afro-house and soulful dance music.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, to an Angolan mother and a Cape Verdean father, DJEFF’s music is deeply rooted in his heritage. His journey has taken him from a young aspiring artist in Portugal to a globally recognized DJ and producer, performing at some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Exit Festival, Caprice Festival, Tomorrowland, Savaya Bali, and Hï Ibiza. About Shoba:
Shoba, formerly known as ‘Shota,’ is a Durban-born singer, producer, and DJ known for his soulful Afro-house sound. His 2012 album Afro-Rawmantic produced hits like Sengikhathele ft. Euphonik and Abantu Bami ft. Professor, securing his place in the music scene.
Shoba has worked with top artists like L’vovo, Theo Kgosinkwe, Culoe de Song, Kelly Khumalo, Big Nuzz, Timmy Regisford and DJ Euphonik showcasing his versatility as both a producer and performer. His work has shaped the Afro-house landscape, earning him industry-wide respect. After a hiatus for personal reasons following the release of his album Timeless in 2015, Shoba returned in 2023 with a landmark performance at Black Coffee’s Madison Square Garden show, and a subsequent remix with the Afro House star in 2024 (Not The Same). Now actively touring internationally, he continues to evolve, bringing his distinctive sound to audiences worldwide.
