Polish-born, now Ibiza-based (via London) melodic techno adept ANII drops richly complex, emotional single ‘Hello’ on Truesoul, out now. ANII has debuted already on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, with her ‘Reset Your Mind’ ( on ‘DC presents Elevate Vol. II’) and now she releases for the first time on his more melodic imprint. 

ANII has seriously made her mark on the music scene, releasing on labels like Afterlife, Kompakt, Simulate and her own TOO GOOD tO DIE imprint…, as well as Beyer’s. An early dalliance with DnB, then electro, then house, began her career after moving to London, but she had what could be called a vocation for the darker side – an emotional connection with techno, which is now her mainstay, though previous allegiances remain to flavour her current work.

‘Hello’: a rich melange of boldly combined elements, with lively beats, a powerful dark undercurrent, and melodic soul in one track. There’s an Eastern influence too. The single opens with a background hum, emitting mysterious fuzzy sitar-like sounds and high whooping radio signal doppler FX, before fast, low frequency drum and fizzing hihats herald a vocal duet riffing on the title rather ominiously, until emotional, melodic synth notes warm up the soundscape, and a high, keening, vocal ululates continuously. All these disparate strands are arranged with top flight production skills to create an organic whole.
