Welcome to our interview with an accomplished DJ and producer, boasting 14 years of experience in the music industry. With a portfolio that includes collaborations with renowned labels like Trippy Code and OURGRND, this artist has mastered mixing techniques across various equipment. Notably, in 2024, they founded the "No Request Festival" in Paris, supported by industry giants such as Tale of Us and Kevin de Vries. Their passion for music is evident in their ability to seamlessly blend genres like Techno and Melodic Techno. We are excited to delve into their journey, vision, and future aspirations in the music world.
Professional Experience: With 14 years of experience as a DJ and producer, can you share some pivotal moments that shaped your career?
Luca Belluco : Oh, yes, in 14 years of experience, I've had quite a few pivotal moments. One night, I remember being invited to a party hosted by a renowned artist in design, where I had the chance to meet Kevin Spacey, Lilli Wood and The Prick, and Rachid Taha.
I also had the opportunity to DJ at the Summer Festival in 2015 in Marseille alongside Afrojack, Steve Angello, Henri PFR, and Hugel! It was quite an adventure.
Label Signings: You've been signed to multiple labels such as Trippy Code and OURGRND. How has working with different labels influenced your musical style and production techniques?
Luca Belluco : I have always had the same music production process. I am very oriented towards Melodic Techno (in the style of Anyma, Cassian, Tale Of Us). Both labels are very focused on my musical style.
Technical Expertise: You’re proficient with various mixing techniques and equipment. How do you stay updated with the latest technology and incorporate it into your sets
Luca Belluco : I keep myself informed about the latest equipment, for example, Pioneer’s latest toy is the Opus Squad, a real powerhouse that I haven’t had the chance to get my hands on yet. But it works with Rekordbox on USB drives, so it suits me just fine.
Festival Founding: Tell us about the inspiration and vision behind founding the "No Request Festival" in Paris. What unique experiences do you aim to offer festival-goers?
Luca Belluco : The creation of the No Request Festival came about through collaboration with an agency called Booking Paris Mix, which places DJs in bars, clubs, and events.
The vision for this festival is based on the fact that we play all kinds of diverse music. For the first edition, we had House, Melodic Techno, Reggaeton, Shatta, and Hard at the end.
It’s a family-friendly and convivial festival that suits all kinds of people. It’s an open-minded festival where everyone is welcome.
You might ask why "No Request"? Simply because the DJs don’t accept requests at the festival, that’s the idea 😁.
Support from Peers: Having support from notable artists like Tale of Us and Kevin de Vries is impressive. How has their support impacted your career and opportunities?
Luca Belluco : So, they don't support me directly yet, but they support the label OURGRND where I am signed.
Future Projects: What are some innovative and large-scale musical projects you hope to contribute to within your new agency?
Luca Belluco : Well, I'm not in an agency yet, but I'm working towards it. I handle everything myself—social media, music production, promotion, etc. It takes a lot of time, but when you love it, time flies by.
